Langtons House Registry Office is a grade II listed building steeped in history and is a popular wedding venue in Hornchurch on the East London / Essex borders. This site is to help you plan your wedding at Langton's House. The Langton's wedding ceremony rooms are decorated to a very high standard.
The stunning Orangery in Langton's Gardens has been restored to its former glory as a superb setting to Langtons House, making it the perfect backdrop for your wedding photographs with its beautiful landscaped gardens, lake and swans. Langton's House registry office is surely one of the most beautiful wedding venues in Essex, perfect for your wedding photography.
The restoration work has enhanced the historic and well loved gardens for generations to come. Most of the trees have now been cut down to show the garden as it use to be hundreds of years ago, a new impressive red brick entrance has been built, to arrive in style in your wedding car.
Marriages & Civil Ceromonies
You can now marry in any register office in England and Wales
You do not have to live in the registration district of your choice, so if you live in say Chelmsford or Southend you can still marry at Langtons Registry Office. Before you do so you both must give notices of marriage to the Superintendent Registrar in the registration district (s) where you have lived for the proceeding eight clear days.
You are required to give at least 28 full days’ notice at your local register office before you can marry; the document produced is called an authority and is valid for up to 12 months against the venue you have chosen. This website is only intended for weddings at Langtons House Registry Office.
Please note: The legal age of Marriage and Civil Partnership is now 18
If you are under 18 years of age, you are no longer allowed to marry or enter a Civil partnership in England and Wales. This means that 16 to 17-year-olds will no longer be able to marry or enter a civil partnership under any circumstances, including with parental permission.

The East Room overlooking the lake has been decorated in duck egg blue with a touch of sparkle and beautiful crystal chandeliers, wall lights and curtains.

The West Room is beautifuly decorated in gold and cream both rooms feature luxurious soft furnishings to complement the decor. The ceremony rooms can accommodate up to 50 guests.

Langtons Hall
The third and largest room for weddings and civil partnership ceremonies in Langtons House is the Grand Hall. It can accommodate up to 100 guests perfect for larger wedding parties, it can be used for the ceremony and also the evening function. Langtons Hall is also available to hire for wedding receptions and parties and has an oak finished bar area from which drinks and refreshments can be served.

The Orangery is the outside wedding venue which opened in April 2017. It can seat up to 80 people outside in the beautiful grounds. If the weather turns inclement the ceremony will be held indoors. Please call 01708 433155 or email ceremonies@havering.gov.uk if you have any enquiries or to book.
